Ben Pure Highlights Serious Implications Of Drug Addiction

Drug addiction is destroying lives and families across the world, observes Ben Pure. If not checked at the right time, a person may permanently lose hopes of getting rid of drug addiction.

Drug abuse starts at a young age just to impress others. Friends also play an important role in forcing their fellow mates into this habit. Once addicted, it becomes virtually impossible to stop, since the body starts craving for the same.

Basically, drugs are chemicals with high addictive potential. These are designed to give a sense of well being to the user. There are many drugs having potent action that can lead to hallucinations and so forth.

There can be a plethora of reasons why a person feels like using drugs. Some may find an escape from stress or some take drugs just to get ‘high’.

Some artists take drugs because they feel more creative and some stage performers use drugs to help them perform for hours without getting tired.

Whatever the reason, it is usually very late before the person realizes that his or her body has become addicted to the chemical.

Drugs and crimes are always associated with each other because the drug addicts resort to unlawful activities to help them get their quota of drugs.

However, it is interesting that a drug addict can resume the habit even after months or years of forced abstinence due to imprisonment, adds Ben Pure.

The obvious reason for this could be mental addiction that forces the person to resume old habit even if physically the system has been detoxified.

Normally, drugs are classified as depressants or stimulants depending on their action. Cocaine is one of the most commonly used stimulants and its way of administration is by inhaling, injecting, and so forth.

Injectables stimulants, such as amphetamine, can prolong wakefulness of a person and is, therefore, commonly used by students during exams or by stage performers. It can also be administered orally.

Sedatives or tranquilizing drugs are termed as depressants and have a relaxing effect on muscles and sensory organs of the body.

There is another dangerous habit of combining drugs with alcohol. This can lead to adverse effects and even death. Benjamin Pure appeals that human body is one of the most amazing miracles of nature and we should not spoil it by using drugs and other substances.
